We opened Cru Bar Dining because we kept meeting people who wanted the same thing: a proper drink and a proper bite, without having to choose between the two. That idea sits behind the long bar, the taps and the chalkboard, and it has not moved since the day we unlocked the front door at crupubbar.co.uk.
The beer side of the room is where we started. We keep a rotating line of craft taps alongside a short list of bottles and cans, so there is always something new to try, something dark and steady for a cold night, and something light enough for a warm afternoon. If you are unsure, we will pour you a taste before you commit.
The small plates grew out of those early evenings. We wanted food that could share the counter with a pint without either one winning, so we built a menu of cooked-to-order dishes that arrive as they are ready and are just as good for a quick stop as they are for a slow evening with friends.
We are a small independent team run by CRU WINE BAR LIMITED, and we like it that way. That means we know the regulars by name, we know what is pouring but not yet on the board, and when a keg runs dry we will happily point you towards something that fits the mood you came in with.
